I'm on a roll! Thanks to Dr. Reeves comment to my post a couple posts, I have since answered the question I placed one post ago. I remembered that I needed to use only primary resources - which answered my previous question. Also, taking the suggestion of branching out - I have since opened new windows to different literature to review. I got so excited I started printing great articles to read! Well it's 9:00pm on a Saturday night and I'm now out of paper. But I had to share my excitement that I think I'm really onto something good for my upcoming assignment due next week.
Thank you Dr. Reeves for your helpful comment!

My new avenues in research:
1. video modeling for people using AAC
2. video modeling for people with disability
3. parents' reflection of AAC use in the home
4. MORE TO COME!

Literature Review question
Ok follow doctoral learners & Dr. Reeves, I have a question - literature reviews. I am spending a lot of time researching articles and reading/reviewing articles for my next assignment, literature map, framework, etc.
I came across an article that's not a study (actually written by my dissertation chair) so there is not an IV or DV, etc. I can still use this correct? My thought process says 'yes' but before the assignment is due I wanted to make sure.

Literature Review findings part 1
I realized tonight all this great literature I thought I had still doesn't make me feel that I can create a literature map -- where is my study going with the research that is currently out there. The research I found thus far discusses
- the need for parental involvement in AAC decision making
- the need for parental training in AAC
- The positive effects training has for parents
What it is not discussing is the online component I want to venture into. I have a lot more research to do this week to search deeper. I found ONE article on '"remote instruction" for AAC that has potential. I looked through their works cited and it either doesn't apply or I have the article already. My search continues...

Organizing Literature
Before I start more literature reviews, my first objective is to organize the articles I currently have and make the map to decide which directions I need to look into for my topic of online support/training for parents who have children using AAC. I will be separating my articles by topic, which will truly assist me to figure out what articles I have, which ones are beneficial and what other subjects on my topic do I need to research currently. I already changed my topic from the Summer Conference so I know I need to weed through those articles and start fresh on some of the potential concepts.
Time to Organize!
Time to Organize!
Stay tuned for what topics I come up with later this week for my study.
This will be instrumental for future steps!
